Occupational Therapy, Allied Health Assistant and Nursing Services
Luisa is an Occupational Therapist and OT Driver Assessor with over 25 years' experience in public health and private practice.
Luisa offers a specialized service in the areas of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Assessment, Sexuality and disability intervention, neurodiversity and learning disabilities, sensory assessment (not a tick box approach) and addressing the concerns and challenges of the individual.
Luisa values the role of other team members, and this includes supporting development of communication for safety, inclusion and shared understanding. A recent course at CPEC enabled Luisa to understand the movements required for communication and the intricacies of supporting AAC and communication development.
Luisa has worked with the community of Bowraville during her time with NSW Health, as well as holding the Strategic District Renal Manager role-where First Nations People are over-represented with this chronic health condition. Her commitment to the First Nations People and their health and disability outcomes has grown and is embedded in her work.
Luisa also works within the community and justice space, supporting young people from diverse and traumatized backgrounds to work towards a safer future. Collaborating with the justice system, NDIS and other stakeholders to facilitate the change for young people.
Luisa is also supporting Family Domestic Violence services to understand disability informed delivery of services.
Luisa also holds a Cert 4 Training and Assessment, and a Grad Cert in Clinical Redesign (this is what makes our service so dynamic).
